If you are an artist that is interested in preforming at one of our show case events then make sure you apply for the event and get a chance to play in front of a panel of industry personnel.

Every Schmooze event presents two live showcases:

  2. Band ShowcaseBig Schmooze Artist Showcase

What’s Different About Showcasing At A Schmooze Event?

To begin, the Schmooze is a held in a huge seminar room at Long & McQuade Music Store. Unlike a bar setting, your audience will be focussed solely on you and your performance. At the Schmooze there are no other distractions between you and your audience. The showcases are specifically timed so that reps who just want to stay for your performance can do so knowing they can attend and leave when they need to.

One of the best reasons for showcasing at The Big Schmooze! is that artists who have been selected to showcase are automatically eligible to be considered to perform at the Toronto Independent Music Awards (TIMA).

Is it True I can WIN CASH if I am chosen to Perform at the TIMA’s?
YES! If you are the showcasing artist/band chosen by The Big Schmooze! to perform at the TIMAs you will be awarded $500 Cash by the Big Schmooze! as a bonus!!

Do I have to be a Schmooze Member to Apply for Showcasing?

Who Will Hear My Showcase? Will there be any Label or Publishing Reps or Agents in the Room?
Industry reps are invited out by the Big Schmooze! It is never a guarantee that when you invite a rep out they will show, but when they know the specific time you will be performing it’s a great plus. As well, any of the guest speakers and panellists who will be participating that night will definitely be listening to your showcase. Remember, They are connected to other key players in the industry and will spread the word about your music if they’re excited about your performance.

However, it is also up to you as an artist to make every effort possible to personally invite industry people out to hear you. When you invite a rep, their name will be put on the guest list to make it as easy as possible for them to attend.
